Who We Are

Meet the Founder

Growth Kitchen was founded by Mehmet Kocaman, and food has been in his blood his whole life. His family have run takeaways and restaurants across the UK and Turkey for decades — nearly everyone owns a store, or several. Together they’ve built and turned around brands like Millennium Pizza, Dirty Burger & Wings and Movie Snacks. These aren’t businesses Mehmet read about in a textbook; they’re businesses he grew up inside.

He’s been working in food since he was 16, and between his own years and his family’s, there’s over 25 years of hands-on experience behind Growth Kitchen. He also founded Grubie — a platform connecting home cooks with customers — which he built and later sold, proof he doesn’t just run food businesses, he builds them.

Mehmet also brings something most food consultants don’t: an engineer’s brain. He holds a degree in aircraft maintenance engineering and spent years optimising systems for the likes of EasyJet, Nissan and SharkNinja. Aircraft engineering and kitchens might seem like different worlds — but it’s exactly that systems-and-efficiency mindset that makes him so good at fixing food operations. He sees a kitchen the way an engineer sees a machine: something to be tuned for consistency, speed and output.

He started Growth Kitchen with one goal: to help food business owners — especially hard-working halal operators — earn as much as they possibly can from the businesses they’ve built. Practical help, real experience, no theory.
